Thanks everybody for your quick answers and helping me! I'm not a technician, so don't really know where the cause lies, but at least this seemed to fix it for me. So I guess a system restore could help some people on the way. After that the installation went well, and everything is 'green' for now. Searched the net again, and came to a solution by running a McAfee removal kit. After a while a message appeared saying Javascript caused a problem. First the program was uninstalled, had to restart my machine and then I got a blank McAfee-screen. The tool found 10 errors of which 7 were related to missing files.ĭecided to go into my account via and try to download again. That worked as well, apparently I had regained access to downloading McAfee products for real. McAfee however still had problems updating and real time scanning could not be enabled. Then I tried to get to Stinger again, and I don't know why, but I could now run the program. I took another system restore but from an older date, installed and ran Malwarebytes, 2 infections were deleted. If I choose "Fix connection problems" the system comes up with either DNS not available or DNS experiencing problems, but I guess this is a standard message, since all other internet traffic is going fine?ĭoes anybody have any suggestions? Thanks! So now my computer is unprotected and I can't install McAfee. Have uninstalled McAfee now via Control Panel, and restarted my PC, but without luck. As far as I know I don't have any other Anti-virus programs installed. Internet Explorer 10 (but with Mozilla Firefox it doesn't work either). I am using a normal wireless connection, Windows 7 Home Premium, with Service Pack 1. That is the message I get when I am not online, but everything else is working fine. I went into my account via, found my subscription and chose 'Download', was directed to a site where I had to accept the terms, and click 'download' after that again. I got the message that my computer was at risk and that McAfee could not update to the latest version. First of all, I am not good at IT, so please forgive me if the question is considered stupid, or if the information I provide is not complete.Ī while ago I got some problems with my McAfee-software.
